Using Web 2.0, or the Read/Write web, in the class.
We try to emphasize that each student should participate in learning. We call them out in class about information they just learned, and if they are lucky they had a chance to process that information.
Using Web 2.0 resources allows students to share their voice with time to process the information.
How this might look in my classroom…
I ask the class to review the concept of Thermodynamics at home.I have a forum or blog site up where they share their thoughts about either concepts or calculations as an assignment.
The next day on discussion, I can pull up the blog site and review student thoughts with the class and use their strategies for solving problems.
